BREAKING NEWS - There are 72 registered campers for Ukraine English Camp in July. Please consider supporting this amazing opportunity for military children to learn about God in the Carpathians! It will cost $9550 for OBU to hold the camp.
Olive Branch English Camp in Ukraine began in 2002. OBI initially did the planning for camps. Eventually Olive Branch Ukraine (OBU) grew in capability and did the planning and had its own staff. Prior to 2020, OBI and OBU teams worked together to hold the camps. The American team was responsible for teaching English and establishing and maintaining relationships with campers. The OBU staff plans and conducts all the other aspects of camp including transportation, lesson plans, Bible classes and camp activities. Despite conflict in 2014, followed by COVID restrictions and now war, English camp in some form has occurred since 2002.
This year Valentyn Korenevych selected a site in western Ukraine in the Carpathian Mountains for camp. It is a great opportunity for military children to escape the daily horrors of the unrelenting violence in their country. There are 14 Americans who answered Valentyn’s call to teach English to these teenagers. Despite our desire to be there, OBI made the decision to follow State Department guidelines regarding our physical presence in Ukraine, especially during current operations.
The camp will take place 9-16 July 2023 and requires approximately 24 hours of travel to get there. The cost of transportation, OBU staff participation and camper scholarships is $9550. Valentyn has turned away over 30 applicants because the camp is at maximum capacity. We need your financial support to make this happen.
DONATE NOW SO MILITARY TEENAGERS CAN HEAR THE WORD OF GOD IN A BEAUTIFUL PART OF UKRAINE, AWAY FROM THE DAILY REMINDERS OF WAR.
Blessings,
Linda Sheimo
