Mental Wellness Conference - by Jeff Jernigan, PhD
Hello, Friends -
Wherever we go, offering a cup of cold water in Jesus' name, we see people, families, and communities transformed. (Matthew 10:42)
Many of you know of our longstanding work in Central Africa, including Sierra Leone (Ebola), Mozambique (famine), S. Sudan (supporting our board member pilot), Cameroon (evacuating caregivers), Rwanda (genocide mental health), Uganda (education of children), and Kenya (raising the standard of healthcare for K-12 students).

We have been working in Kenya for more than four years, training pastors, teachers, nurses, and social workers on how to treat stress and trauma injuries in children and adults working in one of the largest slums in the world, Panjani, Nairobi. Many if not most of these attendees serve in the military and share the information throughout the country. Our teams are right there with them.
We have developed a mental-wellness national conference with the help of our local sponsors, Mission of Hope International. A website with basic medical and mental health practices has been developed for use anywhere in the country. Our teams have spread out from Nairobi to bring healing, health, and hope to schools in the north and on the coast. Wherever we go, offering a cup of cold water in Jesus’ name, we see people, families, and communities transformed.

We need your help to expand this work. If you would like to support this work, simply indicate “Kenya” for your gift. Or, simply say “Where Needed Most.” Thank you for praying with us for this ministry for children and their families.
Sincerely,
Jeff Jernigan, PhD, BCPC, FAIS
Chairman of the Board & Medical Programs Director
