Tom & Diane Carnahan — Board Members

Tom Carnahan served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years as a helicopter pilot, onboard ship in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and in information technology. He is a Naval Academy graduate and received his Masters degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterrey. Since then he has held positions as a federal contractor focusing on database development and cost analysis. Tom has been a member of an OCF since 1976. He has been a volunteer in a number of non-profit organizations throughout the years serving as a deacon at church, overseeing administrative tasks including IT maintenance. Tom has a big heart for serving those around him.

Diane Carnahan became a Navy wife after graduating from college with a degree in Sociology from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and a Masters in Education from SUNY at Albany. After working briefly in a welfare department, Diane spent many years as a full-time mom and volunteer. Part-time jobs during that time included church secretary, substitute teacher, school librarian, and a short time as a baker in a bakery. Diane has served on a number of non-profit boards including the Wilson College Alumnae Association and civic associations. Since 1995 she has worked in admissions at a private elementary school. She oversees the database for the school, manages student records, and coordinates their international school partnership program. Diane has attended PWOC and OCF Bible studies and other women’s ministry activities. While Tom was on active duty, she was actively involved in military support activities including command ombudsman. She has been active in children, youth, adult ministries, and music ministries at local churches in a number of communities. They have housed many international visitors and missionaries in their home. Tom and Diane first learned about Olive Branch in early 2000. Diane has participated in four trips to Eastern Europe as part of the Family Support Program. She and Tom have assisted with administrative tasks for OBI. Tom and Diane have two sons and enjoy spending as much time as possible with their families.
